Brand: Hypechase

Hypechase is a beautiful fashion brand that mixes social responsibility, sustainability, and luxurious materials. The brand was founded by Lida Borkhuu and Adrien de Ville. A couple from Mongolia and Belgium respectively. Lida has always had a passion for fashion and graduated from the Fashion Design School of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. Adrien has always been curious about how to make the world better. In 2017 he moved from Belgium to Mongolia, where he met Lida. As a couple, they created the fashion label Hypechase. A brand that uses the luxurious materials that can be found in Mongolia, such as cashmere, yak, camel and Sartuul sheep. Following their quest for sustainability, the brand started to upcycle authentic Japanese kimonos into summer garments.

Fair trade: The fibres that Hypechase uses are all locally sourced, and come from three suppliers: Sustainable Cashmere Union, Green Gold, and Sustainable Fiber Alliance. These suppliers all make sure that the fibres are ethically sourced, and that the animals and land are treated well.
Some of HYPECHASE’s garments are entirely handmade! The fibres are hand-spun into yarn by the first hand-spinning community of Mongolia (started by Hypechase). They provide jobs to poor ladies living in the suburbs of the city. They provide spinning wheels from Holland, and the ladies teach each other. They now have 4 members! The yarn is then hand-knitted into beautiful knitwear.
Hypechase also works with a small factory for items that aren't hand-knitted. Every employee of Hypechase is not underage, treated well and earns a good wage. Adrien and Lida can always be found in either the factory or the studio, working closely together with their employees.

Environmentally friendly: Hypechase only uses natural materials such as cashmere, yak, camel, and sheep. They almost never use dyes, to avoid water pollution. Orders are packed in recycled paper and almost everything is made by hand. They also have a collection that uses upcycled materials mostly with the silk of authentic Japanese kimonos that were discarded.

Animal welfare: The fibres that Hypechase use only come from suppliers that care about animal welfare. The animals are treated well and spend most of their days grazing on the Mongolian steppes.
