About Nir (the cow!)
Hi, my name is Nir. Just a moment ago I was inside a barn, full of mud, feces and dirt with a terrible smell and density. Walking was very difficult for me. I was so scared! Every day me and my friends noticed that our bigger friends were being taken and loaded into trucks and we had not seen them since. One day they put me isdie a truck as well! I didn’t understand where they were taking me. The ride was so long and felt like an eternity. I cried all the way and wanted so badly to go back to my friends.
Suddenly the truck stopped. I tried to peek out the window but couldn’t see anything. Truck doors opened, a lot of people stood there looking at me. I was so scared so I ran out of the truck, so quickly I stumbled. I ran away as fast as I could. They quickly put me in my own cell. It was strange because it smelled good and was very clean. Every day people entered my compound and from day to day I let them get closer to me. After a week I was so excited when they came in that I even let them sit next to me and even laid my head on them. They even made me a special blue leg which I could walk with and even run! Now I understand how it feels like to be safe and loved.
This bag is made of soft vegan "apple leather" (AppleSkin). The interior lining is a fabric made out of plastic waste that was fished out of the ocean.
All nuuwaï products are PETA-Approved Vegan.

nuuwaï is a vegan bag brand. They make bags from innovative materials such as apple and corn leather.
Fair trade: The products are produced in Germany and Spain under fair working conditions.
Environmentally friendly: nuuwaï uses sustainable materials for their products. The materials they use are:
- AppleSkin®: This leather replacement is made from waste from the apple juice industry. The material consists of 26% apple waste, 16% cotton, 20% polyester, and 38% polyurethane. This material is both OEKOTEX (free from harmful chemicals) and Peta-Approved certified.
- UltraWer®: This is a leather replacement made from corn. It is made from corn grown for industrial use (so not for food). The material consists of 50% recycled polyester, 35% bio-based polyuethane from corn, and 15% polyurethane.
- Recycled polyester: The lining of the bags is made of recycled polyester made from European recycled PET bottles.
- Recycled polyester felt: For the place mats, nuuwaï uses felt made from recycled PET. This felt is made in Finland, and is OEKOTEX 100 and GRS certified.
nuuwaï only uses plastic free packaging material. The hang tags are made from recycled paper, including coffee cups. With every online order, they support initiatives to protect forests.
Vegan: nuuwaï is a completely Peta-approved vegan brand.

Shop Like You Give a Damn is an online vegan & fair department store, started out of the frustration of vegan shopping. The founders of Shop Like You Give a Damn wanted to be able to shop easily, with a wide range of stylish clothing, shoes, bags and cosmetics, of which you know for sure that they are vegan. Still quite tricky, because often you only find out after ordering that there is a leather patch on the jeans, that some wool has been processed in a sweater, or that the glue in the shoes is not vegan (if you ever find out).
