The fairtrade Ponchos Blue Purple are handmade by the Maya collectieve Kamolon KiKonojel from Sololá, Guatemala. They carefully hand-dyed the bamboo threads with AZO-free dyes and blend them in harmonious colors and textures to create these beautiful ponchos.
This Maya cooperative is formed by 180 backstrap weavers.

Brand: Quetzal Artisan is a brand that brings handmade and hand-woven products from North, Central and South America to Europe. The goal of Quetzal Artisan is to stimulate fair trade and to give real craftsmanship a stage. Quetzal Artisan has different collections that all try to make the world a bit better in their own way.
Fair Trade: The wool collection is designed and woven by women in Canada and the Guatemalan textile collection is made by skilled women from Guatemala. The Guatemalan women make beautiful designs that combine traditional and modern and they get paid fair wages for their work, which ensures that they can support their children.
Environmentally Friendly: For the wool collection Quetzal Artisan uses materials such as bamboo, alpaca wool, and organic cotton, which are spun in the Andes mountains of South America. For the Guatemalan collection, they only use natural materials such as cotton and viscose, and they paint by hand using natural paint products such as tree bark and flowers.
