Where’s the collar?
Well, there isn’t one actually… Sorry.
Of course this isn’t unique, but the lack of a formal collar means this fits perfectly for those smart/casual events… That event where a polo might not quite cut it, but somehow a full collar might be a bit too much.
That’s not the end of the story for this shirt though: do you like the buttons? They’re not actually buttons, they’re press-studs… and once you’ve tried them, you won’t want to go back – who can be bothered fiddling about getting buttons through holes when you can just press the thing together and then just pull it apart!
The shirt, like all of our products, is free from any manmade fibres, eliminating all those micro-plastics produced when you wash your clothes. It’s 55% hemp and 45% certified organic cotton.

The clothes industry is a particularly dirty industry – we’re trying to do things in a better way!
None of our clothes contain polyester, nylon, or any other unsustainable man-made fibres, ensuring that micro plastics don’t end up in the sea. But that’s just the start. Below is a list of credentials that this product adheres to:
Organic Content Standard
The “Organic Content Standard – Blended” (OCS) certifies that part of the material used in this fabric is organic. In this case 45% of the fabric is cotton and is certified as organic. But what about the 55% hemp? Hemp grows like a weed and natually doesn’t require any pesticides or other polluting chemicals. Fair Wear Standard
The Fair Wear Foundation is a non-profit organisation with the mission to “see a world where the garment industry supports workers in realising their rights to safe, dignified, properly paid employment”. Eco-friendly: Of the Oceans is, you guessed it, committed to healthy oceans. The brand is plastic-free and uses materials such as hemp, GOTS-certified organic cotton, bamboo and wool.
The fabrics are dyed in a zero-discharge dyehouse, where all the water is recycled in a closed-loop system.
Fair production: The clothes are made in factories that have either been assessed as a leader by the Fair Wear Foundation or that carry a Fairtrade certificate.
Good cause: 5% of every purchase is donated to marine conservation charities.
