Short description
The thies ® Mountain Wool Slipper Boots with beautiful knit collar for kids are fairly produced in Austria. The upper made of whalecloth is 100% pure, organic virgin wool from species-appropriate Austrian mountain sheep. The felt sole is dipped in latex and profiled. Sustainably milled with pure mountain water. 100% pure, certified new wool. Decorated and embroidered with the iconic thies ® squirrel.
The natural virgin wool is felted without any chemicals, thus reducing the environmental impact to a minimum.
All wool waste is recycled and further processed by a special process. This closes the cycle again. The use of 100% renewable raw materials is an important concern for us.
Intelligent management through heat recovery and short transport routes have been set here for years.
Most of our required energy comes from hydropower and solar energy
Fair wages and a healthy working climate for the employees
Support of endangered sheep breeds
Climate-neutral, certified production with a high proportion of handwork

About the brand
Thies is a shoe brand that was founded in 1856. They make footwear from innovative and sustainable materials.
Eco-friendly: The sneakers' upper, lining and insole are made of 'olive leather', tanned from the vegetable extract of olive tree leaves. The slippers and sandals are made from upcycled milk wool. Milk wool is a synthetic fiber from casein powder in milk. The result is similar chemically and in properties to wool, but it is a bit different.
Fair and locally produced: the olive leather for the sneakers is made locally in Germany, where Thies also produces. The collections are therefore made close to home, in Europe!
Vegan: The Thies eco-line on Project Cece is suitable for vegans, because olive leather is used here as an alternative to animal leather.
