Pacific Fashion is a swimwear and clothing brand that wants to be part of a change in the fashion industry. 46% of all the plastic in the ocean comes from fishing nets and other discarded fishing gear. Which is why Pacific Ocean works with Aquafill and Healty Seas to help mitigate the impact of this problem. Healty Seas is an organization that collects ghost fishing nets from our oceans and sends them to Aquafill. Aquafill will convert those nets along with other nylon waste into ECONYL® regenerated nylon that is used to produce the swimwear fabric. The fabric, which has been tested under various conditions, is found to be twice as resistant to sunscreens, oils and chlorine than their competing fabrics.
Ethically produced: the swimwear items are fairly made in Bali. This workshop adheres to the employer rules for Bali: they meet all requirements when it comes to treating staff, dealing with waste and the use of water, this is done as sustainably as possible. The employees are paid above the minimum wage, all receive a 13th month, receive free medical care and the factory is equipped with good air conditioning and ventilation. The clothing is made fairly in Bangladesh, in a factory that is affiliated with the Fair Wear Foundation.
Eco-friendly: The bikinis are made from Econyl, a recycled nylon material for which they work together with aquafill. Furthermore, Pacific Fashion also has T-shirts and Bags. These items are made from recycled polyester and organic cotton, GOTS and Oeko-Tex certified.
Supporting the local community: Pacific Fashion partners with Bali Street Mums, a charity.
