Silverstick was founded by true outdoorsmen who have created sustainable clothing that is specially made for the natural environment. Nestled in the rolling hills of the South Downs on the south coast of England, they created their first collection in 2010. They have stuck to this philosophy ever since. The clothing is designed to feel comfortable and looks great on your outdoor adventures. They are robust enough to thrive in the wild (and trust us, they put every fibre to the test). Manufactured in harmony with nature to support and protect our beloved outdoor playgrounds.
Fair trade: The clothing is made under fair working conditions in Turkey and then finished with print and embroidery in the UK. The hats, scarves and socks are made entirely locally in the UK. Silverstick visits the UK locations about 2-3 times a year and can confirm that fair working conditions. The factory in Turkey is GOTS certified and part of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). This indicates that the factory treats its employees fairly and is still looking for opportunities to improve.
Environmentally friendly: Silverstick uses GOTS certified organic cotton. For the paint and prints, they use low-impact water-based dyes that do not contain any harmful substances. Both the dyes and dye houses are certified as non-toxic by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Oeko-Tex. Silverstick also uses wool, locally sourced from the UK and Merino wool, for the hats and socks. They collect as much information as possible about the welfare of the animals to ensure that the wool is mulesing-free.
Locally sourced: Some of the collection is locally made in the UK and the rest in Turkey.
